Nature as living Art

My art - the reflecting, mirroring of what I see - comes from a deep love and respect of what is living art - nature itself.

I paint what I see without wishing to add deep meaning or context. Nature is inherently beautiful as it is. To change it would be to detract from what is already perfect. This is why, as much as I am able, I paint, or rather reflect, what I see. I just wish to extend onto board and canvas and share with others this natural beauty - nature and its environment.

This for me is to complete a circle that is everlasting and perpetual. Not of taking, but of receiving, this gift - the beauty of nature - and giving it to others in the form of a painting - a continuum. The art of nature as art.

“Keep your love of nature, for that
is the true way to understand art
more and more”

Vincent Van Gogh

“Colour is the keyboard, the eyes are
the harmonies, the soul is the piano
with many strings. The artist is the
hand that plays, touching one key or
another, to cause vibrations in the soul”

Wassily Kandinsky

Tony Karpinski Fine Art Artist

Tony was born in 1965. From an early age he was capturing and recreating as art the world as he perceived it. His education in art began, and continues, by reflecting this world. As a young artist he was commissioned to create several pastiches of Dutch masters and it was here that he developed his mastery of oils.

Tony's life changed forever when he was introduced to the wildlife paintings of Wilhelm Kuhnert (1865-1926) . They were truly inspirational. This led to the start of Tony's journeys to Africa. What followed, and continues to this day, is a unique, impressive and prestigious collection of wonderful paintings.

An affinity and love for nature is what inspires Tony to paint this valuable body of work. Tony travels to Africa to immerse himself in the landscapes and animals that become his art. There he grasps their essence and spirit and then encapsulates these through the medium of oils onto board and canvas.

This love of wildlife and a never ending enthusiasm for painting drives Tony to continuously surpass his own demands of excellence. This is coupled with an instinctive need to grow his understanding and exploration of his chosen medium of expression.

This collection of paintings, whether it be African wildlife, exquisite nudes, evocative Venice pieces, and whatever else the future may hold, all have certain elements in common - a capturing of a mood and atmosphere, a glowing vibrancy and realism, and yet a freshness unequalled elsewhere in the world of art today.

Tony's paintings are being enjoyed and admired in private collections worldwide. Their value has increased dramatically in recent years as they are sought by discerning collectors who love Tony's unique, incredibly skilful translation of nature at her best.

This website brings Tony's talent to a much wider audience. It creates the opportunity to discover, admire and own Tony's art, whether it be an original or a signed print. Enjoy!
